Long-term trends in 11 annual indices associated with frequency and intensity of daily precipitation, besides the standard precipitation index (SPI), in scales of 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, were analysed in Piracicaba, SP, in the period from 1917 to 2012. Randomness and Mann-Kendall tests were used to assess the significant trends in all series. Light linear increasing trends were found in the 4 considered SPIs. Only 3 of the 11 annual indices of daily precipitation showed significant trends, and of decrease: annual rainfall frequency of precipitations greater than 50 mm/day, total annual rainfall above the 99 percentile and greatest annual sequence of rainy days.
